..and the summer continues

July 24, 2012

today we went to the busker festival at the Inner Harbour in Victoria

Victoria is a tourist town, what’s more Canadian than a moose in a Mountie’s uniform?

or two men from the crowd laying down in a parking lot and having a flaming, remote control car leap over them

an Australian on a pogo stick with a fork in his helmet breaking  the balloon

and last but not least, another Australian – it’s winter down under – on a unicycle with a glass of water on his head juggling baseball bats

that was enough even for Carrie, we came home and designed an outfit for Betsy, the department store dummie (sorry Betsy!)

the tubular cotton knit from Japan, kumihimo for a belt and a triple weave, silk scarf we dyed at the Japanese Textile Workshop with madder and gardenia pods and top dyed with indigo

Betsy looks amazing, I wish I was thin enough to wear my cut of the knit like that! Your day out looks way too much fun 🙂

Neki – Lis – I’ve left Betsy in her gown, can’t remember the day when it would have fit me!!
Velma – the middle layer is weft floating between the outer two, gorgeous.

a really elegant ensemble! i bet betsy forgave you quickly for describing her as a ‘dummy’, when you were done dressing her up.

Anastasia- I try to show Betsy some respect but she is so darn skinny I’m jealous. the scarf went to daughter-in-law for her birthday (today). I have one, too.
