eco bundle
–I picked up lichen under the chestnut trees, some of it still attached to bark. It started me thinking about an eco dyed bundle. Using several cotton and linen napkins that were dyed last summer with a variety of plant materials,
including the lichen and a variety of materials available in the garden; rhodo leaves, a branch from the walnut tree, heather, rose leaves, rosemary, some iris leaves and grasses. I layered the plants between the napkins and tied them with the grasses. Rosemary gives a lovely smell while steaming.
This is the bundle partially wrapped.
The finished bundle is tied tightly with cotton rug warp which is recycled–maybe some of the colour will transfer. On each side of the package is a copper coaster (from the charity shop) which has been used in dye pots in the past. The bundle was steamed for 1 hour.
Now I have to wait–patiently!
How exciting! I’m planning for a dye day or two next week, hope to do a couple of bundles.

–oh, yes. I’m not very good at waiting. Was hoping for at least a month. Guess I’ll have to confess when I open it.
