a bear’s sweater

February 11, 2022

it’s sunny – and warm today

but the knitting continues

an orange sweater for Gilbert  – handspun and madder dyed, the pale stripe is two yarns, silk and mohair

the start of a tiny orange sweater – #5 using the same two yarn blend

Gilbert is very pleased

he is guarding all the different shades of orange, there may be more dyeing to come

and now for a walk in the woods

Gilbert looks very handsome! The toning stripes make the jumper so interesting. A walk in the woods on a sunny day is the perfect antidote to February blues!

Sue – it was a little easier to knit than the tiny sweaters. It is so nice to feel the warmth of the sun and banish all the grey – even just for a few days.

Kathy – he is very happy with his new sweater but I’m worried that the other bears will want one too.
