…and one day more
February 29, 2020
there is colour rising out of the mud
with that one extra day I was hoping to finish the tapestry – maybe tonight
spinning the lamb’s wool is a pleasureso soft and lofty
it would be nice to knit
but with arthritis in my hands – from years of gardening in the damp
I don’t knit any more – π¦
and now on this sunny last day of February
it is time to start the garden pruning and cleanup
ready for the municipal pickup

I love having crocuses in the garden. The purples are such a lovelly contrast to all the yellows, pretty though those are. The days are noticeably lengthening and I know what Sue means about energy rising.

Sue – the crocuses and daffodils are such a welcome sight after a long winter.

Oh, the colours of that crocus… I’d never combine them in fabric so bright, but Nature has a way of softening and modulating even the brightest colours so they just work!

Kate -nature is the master colourist. Here in the Northern hemisphere the colours are more muted than in your bright sunlight. Hope you are having a wonderful journey with Mouse.

It always amazes me how the quality of the sun and daylight can affect one’s perception of the same colour. Things I used to find too bright in the north can seem quite blah and nondescript in tropical sunshine. Mouse asks me to let you know that he’s enjoying himself and the quality of Staff service is up to expectation, but he’d like seconds of breakfast, please.

Kate – well, we all know who rules that roost – or caravan – or dog house. Look out Mouse, you’ll get fat!

Yup, the dog’s in charge β until I am! I do actually watch how much he eats, as being overweight is so very bad for greyhound hearts. Any treat added = kibble removed… but don’t tell Mouse!

Thanks for the pictures of your pretty spring flowers. I don’t have any in our yard yet.
