Scrap Happy May
I first started participating in Scrap Happy in May 2018 and have posted every month since
so this is an anniversary of a sort
almost didn’t make it this month – only a very small project
this jacket was finished several years ago and a lady bought it at a studio tour
sorry for the bad picture, it is the only one I have
she came to the tour again in April and wanted a small bag she could wear around her neck
there were scraps of the fabric in the handwoven pile
in fact there might be enough to make myself a top
approximately four inches square
there was enough of the original yarns to twist a cord
the lining came from the scrap pile – the colours are perfect
the closing snap came from the sewing box – unfortunately it is black
the little mother-of-pearl button of course came from the button jar
now on to the next year – wonder if I can keep it up?
here are the links to other scrap happy people, taken from Kate’s blog

What a pretty bag. Very clever use of scraps 🙂 Did you weave the fabric yourself?

Joanne – thank you, yes I wove the fabric, several of the yarns are chenille so it is very soft.

that’s so lovely.

Dawn – thank you, think she plans to use it for bus tickets, it would make a nice little jewellery bag.

That is a perfect ScrapHappyversary project 🙂 Lovely colour combinations and I love those tiny white tufts in the weave!
LikeLike
Kate – those white tufts were a novelty yarn and the loom hated weaving it. I’m going to play with the leftover fabric and see if I can make something for the summer.
