weaving a picture

January 27, 2019

progress has been slow

somewhere, somehow I caught the flu

despite having the flu shot

maybe it doesn’t hang around as long but if it is any less vicious I didn’t notice

it is a nice feeling not to be worried about finishing a tapestry every month

I was invited to join a small tapestry group

it is rather intimidating

some of them have been tapestry weavers for years and do beautiful work

there is a challenge for the group to weave a piece with a horizon

hope this will do, when finished it will measure 5.5″ x 7.5″  ( 14cm x 19cm)

taken from my photo of Clover Point

looking across the Strait of Juan de Fuca to Washington State

just need to finish the sky – that should be easy!

oh wow, your tapestry is brilliant! I just saw photo of that first, before seeing your inspiration photo, and knew immediately it was a picture of sea, with waves lapping on the beach.

You got the shot and still got sick! I know it happens but that doesn’t seem fair at all. The tapestry is very effective! Your skills have really grown this past year.

Beautiful tapestry! It’s immediately obvious what it is, and follows the photograph so nicely!

Flu stinks; I hope you’ll be feeling much better very soon. And I love your tapestry landscape.

Oh no, sorry about the flu! I love the tapestry – I am sure it will be acceptable!

Kjerstin – I hoped you’d be able to recognize the point. I’m going to survive but am surprised at how nasty it is when I had the shot.
