municipal election day

got there early!

I’ve been voting in this district for more than 20 years

for a municipal election I’ve never seen such a good turn out

the results will be interesting

the final results from the madder and cochineal dye pot

doesn’t look like much for 3/4 years of watering and weeding my small madder plot

skein at the top is from the exhausted exhaust bath

salmon pink, the photo colour is good

the pink ball in front is singles silk, it took up more of the cochineal

a handspun mohair/wool 2 ply loop yarn

the top ball is madder dyed several years ago

the skein was top dyed in the madder/cochineal pot

a good selection of seasonal colours

(although the camera favored the cochineal in this shot)

if you live in B.C. please make the time to go and vote.

Pretty colours! I still haven’t dug up my madder yet. I wonder if it is better fresh or benefits from aging? Too bad I don’t have enough for too many experiments!

And yes, we voted! Don’t vote; can’t bitch!

Louisa – I have read that home grown madder benefits from some aging, don’t know from personal experience – too impatient!
