chaos
after three days of hot, sunny weather
“The President” clematis is blooming
and the scent of lavender fills the damp air
I seem to have an obvious colour preference in the garden
the tea towels are hemmed
it was fun to change the weft and see the colours develop
but that is all the studio work I’ve been able to get to
in the evenings I’ve started the book pages for June
I’m not sure where it is going from here – but time will tell
in my spare time I’m trying to wind this cotton into balls
so the cone can be used for display
the conference starts on June 28
it is going to be a crazy month
I did manage to get to my favorite pottery show
and purchased one small sake/tea cup
by Sophia Kim
she has developed a glaze that looks like birch bark
I couldn’t resist
now it is back to conference “stuff”
i’m trying my hand with clems, which i love, here. they won’t fry as they did in barcelona. lovely, lovely cotton.

Neki – always fun to try something new. The cotton is very nice, I wound a couple skeins to try dyeing in the indigo once I have time.

Hi Jean, apologies! I haven’t followed through on my tea towel requests, or wishes, if a few are still available. In the photo above, I like the two on the left, the purple on and the black one. I also like the new one you started in the next post, but can only get two. I hope it is not too late!

Suzanne – I’ll save the purple and black ones for you and we can discuss them on email. The next post isn’t tea towels unless you are really going wild – it is 3/4 silk.

Your garden is beautiful as always! I hope you won’t be completely burned out when the conference finally starts :). I have a question: When I signed up and purchased Bryan’s class, I was out of town and so my husband did the registration/payment. But he accidentally signed me up as a guild member, which I am not. He must have been thinking about the Tucson guild. So I need to pay that extra amount. Do you know who I may contact in order to set it straight? Thanks!

Kristin – I’m surprised he was able to do that as the form gives a dropdown list of affiliated guilds and doesn’t let you proceed unless you click on one of them. Maybe Tucson is an affiliate – I can’t check it right now. I will ask someone and let you know.
