stormy weather
two storms in a week
and now
” the remnants of Super Typhoon Songda are expected to hit the west coast late Saturday afternoon”
so while #2 was blowing itself out
I went in search of autumn leaves
where the Canada geese were loudly announcing their presence
Garry Oaks are an important part of the southern Vancouver Island ecosystem
and in the Mayor’s Grove, with trees dedicated to Victoria’s past mayors
(can you see the ladybug)?
a squirrel is stockpiling for winter
the ducks are doing what ducks do
a colour palette of decaying leaves
and a selection of lichen for future dyeing
an ancient ginko tree, not yet turning yellow
then on to the Ross Bay Cemetery where the trees are beautiful any time of year
and the deer roam freely
out on the Strait of Juan de Fuca a tug struggles against the rising wind
You’ve been having wild weather! Is it over yet? Your walk looks like a perfect autumn ramble. I love a walk at this time of year–it appeals to all my senses!

Kerry – the major wild weather missed us in Victoria, just the usual early winter storm. I love the wind and waves (when I can retreat to a hot cup of tea), so invigorating.

Beautiful photography. I’m feeling like I’m there!

Kristin – it’s still reasonably warm so a little wind and rain just blew the cobwebs away.

Heather- guess we don’t have much choice, they’ve stopped all the ferries. Stay safe.

Velma – the experts still don’t know where this is going to make landfall, just hope it is not as intense as predicted.

I am hunkered down with my new/old loom, patched with elastics and helpful carpenters, but having fun!

Kjerstin – I’m off to weave now, did you solve the reed/baby blanket problem?

Not solved yet, but part way there with the fixing of the loom!
