to remind one of the passage of time

Jillian, my youngest granddaughter turned 11 yesterday

her grandfather (my ex.) was 75 the same day

and today is her father’s turn – and it’s a big one!

My mother sort of refuses to believe that I’ll be 60 later this year! I’m trying to refuse to believe it, too!

That’s so funny! I feel the same way now that both my kids are over 40 and my oldest grandkid is nearly 11. Their birthdays are far more shocking than my own. Although I’ll be an actual senior myself on my next birthday. Urp. Anyway, getting older is better than the alternative, right?

Louisa – you are so right, we have to see it as funny. And I’m not ready for the alternative. Senior-hood has its benefits!
