Heather has posted another blog on amulets

P1060386this time I’ll start with a deerskin pouch I’ve had since childhood

add some beads, turquoise is good, so are shells and silver

the glass tube contains coloured sand

 this sand is special

it comes from a Tibetan mandala

created many years ago at the Art Gallery of Victoria

Dali Lama 003

I went every day on my lunch hour to watch the monks

and then see it blessed by the Dali Lama

Dali Lama 001the next day the sand was swept into a container

those of us still there were offered a handful

and then it was scattered in the ocean

another picture for Alice (I’m having fun!)

P1060385sorry if it is blurry

I’m not sure how lawyers feel about having their upholstery photographed

I might get charged – yikes!

Wow, sand from a Tibetan mandala – that’s got some power in it. So glad to have been the conduit for some inspiration – and it flows in both directions. You inspire me!

Heather – I think the real gift is to recognize inspiration when it comes to you, and it grows and expands. You can’t get much more powerful than sand blessed by the Dali Lama

Upholstery by stealth. If you’re really quick, it won’t be billable. Nice one, though.
