Neki – red makes a statement but I use it sparingly, started the big indigo vat yesterday so it’s back to blue.

I love red, too, especially oriental poppies, my favorite flower (if it’s possible to have a favorite!) I think the shoes are a hoot. I had a pair of dk red Doc Martens when I was in high school and everyone said I looked like Ronald McDonald!

Kristin – my favorite flower changes every day! nobody has called me Ronald, yet.
Louisa – I am pacing myself – too old to do otherwise and I’m enjoying the fun shoe/sock combination.

Those shoes and socks are so cute! Listen to your wise granddaughter – you should definitely wear them together.
Gardening is both exhausting and fun! I found the trick is to pace myself and not overdo it or else I get too tired, sore and bored with it all. Just a few bites at a time keeps the interest up.

I find red endlessly appealing, too. I bet that sock and shoe combo gets you noticed!

Kerry – the shoes and socks together are a bit out of my comfort zone but my granddaughter loves them!
Liz – your garden sounds lovely, mine is hard work and digging this year.

You’ve done well, I always find red flowers so difficult to photograph, I think because red is such a fast colour. I have white pelargoniums this year, just to be awkward, they glow beautifully in the dusk. I have magnificent red oriental poppies, red roses and fuchsias, so plenty of red. Adore your shoes.
