more stripes
November 5, 2013
we’ve been enjoying an extended period of lovely Fall weather
but suddenly
the leaves have all come tumbling down
raking is a full-time job
colours are spectacular
birds are having a feeding frenzy
progress in the studio is slow
more weft stripes, in handspun silk and natural dyes
this time silk scarves
difficult to photograph with the muted light
and somehow the stripes look like the are wriggling away
oops! a little ball of silk was trapped on the front beam under the weaving
autumn joy from nature’s paint brush

Wow, you have a lot more colour in Victoria than we do here – maybe there are more cultivars there. Beautiful colours in the scarves too – maybe we will be able to do a trade?

Heather – happy to do a trade but I don’t think your cushion covers will last a half hour.
Kerry – thanks, the fall colours are so inspiring.
