Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!
enjoy the pumpkin pie
and the beautiful weather – while it lasts
Bryan was here for a whirlwind visit
two of his machine knitted pieces – a cowl and a scarf
kakishibu and indigo, stencilled and shibori
an autumn walk in the cemetery, along the waterfront
where the mushrooms are abundant
a pocketful of lichen
a Victoria history lesson (click to enlarge)
and a visit to Emily Carr
visitors leave her gifts
she wrote
” Oh, God, what have I seen? Where have I been? Something has spoken to the very soul of me, wonderful, mighty, not of this world…. Something in me is trying to answer.”

happy thanksgiving, i think we should all celebrate on this day when it’s harvest time. despite the fun of having my birthday be on thanksgiving every seven years–and emily, i remember when i first saw her painting and was swept away!
