the weather is hot and very dry
the teasels are as high as the gutters
I’m freezing the hollyhock blossoms for dyeing
look who came knocking at the front door
she didn’t come alone
there are three babies
they are taking swimming lessons in my fish pond
the fish are long gone/eaten
they are cute but very destructive

will you make your own cards or a fulling device from the teasels? i once saw a fulling machine made with teasels. (geesh, is that the right name?)

Velma – I’ve seen pictures (I think it is the right name) but the small “thingy” I’ve seen is only 3 teasels in a fan shape with a wood brace at the ends and again just under the heads and no I’ll not be makin’ one. don’t do much weaving with wool.
Aimee – mom was literally standing at the front door with one baby. when I opened the door she stood on her hind legs and hissed and snarled at me, in broad daylight. it is so dry I think they are looking for water but there is a creek 1/2 block from me – wish they would go there.

Velma – I have a student who has a trap and a truck and relocates racoons but it is illegal, dangerous (mom is extremely protective) and a never ending job. think I’m stuck with them

Ah, the urban wildlife! Our neighbourhood raccoons keep knocking the bamboo spout into our water garden. That wouldn’t be so bad but they chomp on it first! T has had to build new parts for it twice already. Luckily we have a ready supply of bamboo. Yes, they are pesky critters!

Louisa – I’m hoping mom isn’t looking for a place to settle for the winter.
