how did that happen?
I mistakenly measured this warp 1 metre short
so – it wove up quickly
different weft yarns
from the left – hand-spun cotton plied with silk; linen and hemp (same as warp); paper yarn, natural hand-spun and 2 ply paper and ramie from Japan dyed with kakishibu
the coloured samples have given me the idea for the next warp
the selvedges were threaded in one colour but two different blocks and in the blue only one weft was used, showing how the blocks would look without a warp stripe
the end of the warp, a narrow table runner
next, a silk variation

I love the blue one as well, it seems soft to the touch.

Blandina – it is a commercial yarn that I thought was cotton but when indigo dyed it revealed it’s true nature – one of the threads was a synthetic and didn’t take the dye. I actually like the look and it is very soft.
