the pattern on the woven shibori that was gathered tightly, but not on a pole, is so much nicer
the above picture is before rinsing
it is very simple to weave on only 4 harnesses/shafts
I like the accidental vertical pattern (it runs horizontally in the picture) that has developed
I cut an end off the first pole-wrapped piece and over dyed it
and also dyed a small piece of my curtain/shade fabric, I plan to do some sashiko and then make a shifuku/bag
a short kumihimo cord using paper yarn and some silk – a drawstring for the knitted bag

Question? The stripes came from the shibori dyeing?

Renee – shibori is when you resist the dye reaching part of the fabric. In this case pulling up the resist gathering threads (first picture) prevents the dye reaching the fabric inside the gathers.
