more of everything

January 30, 2012

can’t stop making buttons, it’s like eating peanuts

these have  linen for the outside  and then Habu’s paper moire plyed with handspun cotton and shifu yarn/paper for the centers.

new aprons for a student table loom

but it’s back to the hardware store because I forgot the upholstery tacks

and more books

I iron light, double-faced interfacing onto hand-woven fabric and then a light mulberry paper onto that

it stabilizes the fabric, the paper prevents glue from seeping through and it makes neat, perfect corners

it is the weight and feel of craft paper

I won a book of graph paper, printed on both sides and a very nice weight. It makes good signature covers and useful, too.

now I need to get busy stitching!

Those buttons look lovely and tempting to try but I am no way going to start something new! I’m trying to finish things off to leave my sewing table clear for when we get back from Japan! If I share with you I’ll just be asleep, turn the light off before you go to sleep yourself!! ha ha.

Lis – I’m trying to finish things up, too but as I’m teaching button classes I need to keep sampling. I’m bringing the makings with me so when we have a few spare minutes?? in Japan you can have a try.

Aren’t you busy enough? You have so much energy I definitely DO NOT want to share a bedroom with you during our stay in Japan…
