summer colours

July 26, 2011

wool dyed in lac and mohair solar dyed with mullein leaves. soft, warm colours.

I have 2 “art-in-the-park” events in August and need some small, inexpensive items to sell. The flowers look great on a sun hat or a bag. I use leftover bits of handspun, stitch beads in the center and a brooch pin on the back.

this one uses the mullein dyed mohair and handspun silk .

no watering needed.

These are gorgeous. I can’t tell how you start. Was it from a piece of weaving in square and you draw it into the center and stitched? Lovely and creative work…

they are woven on a 4″ square “weavette” loom, 2 for the flower and another for the leaf.
