making yarn while the phone rings

June 20, 2011

today is the first day to register for workshops for the Maiwa Textile symposium – and the early weaver/spinner gets their first choice. Starting at 10am I redialed for 2 1/2 hours before getting through. In the end I got my first choices. Bookbinding basics, 2 days in September with Gaye Hansen and The Creative Studio, 2 days in October with Natalie Grambow.

while on the phone I plied the grapevine dyed Merino wool, 2 1/4 oz. or 70 gms. of fine 2 ply.

waiting impatiently.

Congrats – bookbinding will be awesome. But beware – it can lead to accumulations of beautiful papers! I haven’t registered for anything yet, due to a cash crunch, but am hoping to get into Rug Hooking when the $$$’s appear.
