still stitchin’

February 15, 2011

I’m determined to get this finished. It has become rather cumbersome to work on, I’m trying to concentrate on a quarter section at a time. This is the upper left and I’m thinking it is finished.

You can see the basting stitches still in the fan piece.

I really like the texture that has developed on this piece. It is similar to what I imagine a kantha from India would feel like–if I was ever lucky enough to see/feel one in person.

This is the block printed piece that was sort of messy. The stitching is barely discernible from any distance but gives it some depth and texture.

I really love the back, it does look like some  kantha and I will try a small piece in this technique but wonder if I can train my brain and fingers to work in-side-out?
