“shades of grey”  woven with sewing thread. Beads are threaded on a supplementary warp, wound on sewing bobbins. The warp was unwound and one bead threaded each time one was placed into the weaving. The supplementary warp was used as a weft thread and pulled tight to create “holes” in the fabric.

This a technique used by the Yoruba people of Nigeria.
