hot off the loom
December 21, 2010
At last the double weave is finished. Two scarves, as planned and an extra 28 inches–not planned! I must have measured incorrectly and am just happy that it was on the good side.
They need to be washed, trimmed and the fringes twisted.
In the preface to “A Quiet Joy” by Grace O. Martin, Esther Warner Dendel writes:
“Made things are not important except as the act of making brings the maker into a deeper knowledge of himself. We grow by doing. It is from these depths that joy arises, not with a thunderclap, or even a handclap, but in quiet.”

thanks for “stopping by”. I have just recently started eco dyeing and now search the charity shops for fabrics to use–really love the surprise results. Hope to work on more books in the future.
