studio tour

November 20, 2010

It’s studio tour weekend and last night it snowed! Gone by this morning but it is cold with a bitter wind.

Don’t know how long the balloons – or the sign – will last – but the municipality doesn’t allow signs and have stated they will confiscate them. Charging $25 to get the sign back and another $100 for bylaw infractions. The event is put on by the municipal recreation center and we pay them for the advertising. Gov’t at it’s best!

The studio is ready and I put the heat on early so if nothing else I’ll have 2 days of guilt free weaving.

Have a warm weekend.

What a great studio you have! And I am intrigued with your natural dye experiments. I had never heard of using horse chestnut as a fabric lightener but I must try it!

not sure really how effective the whitening was but it was fun and I’ll probably make it an annual event. I never intend to spend so much time natural dyeing but can’t stop myself. Love it! And, Heather, it is really cold in Victoria, too.

thanks, Velma. Yes, I survived, it’s amazing how different the people are that come to a studio tour. Nice, interesting and interested. And a plus–sales were reasonable. My students brought me food, presents and one even came to give me a bathroom break. I’m back on track.
